1883 university-turned-dwelling is for sale

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — An 1883 schoolhouse is for sale after it was renovated into a dwelling working with first elements and retaining in place the two chalkboards.

WANE 15 stories that Eric Vanstrom was on the lookout at residences when he spotted the abandoned schoolhouse. The owner, John Popp, had purchased the it in hopes of restoring the place where by his grandfather taught in about 1905.

Developed by J.F. Wing & Co., it was known as Cory Faculty for the proprietor who sold the land to Aboite Township. It educated learners from a single of 8 districts in the Aboite Township Schools.

There was problems from drinking water and vandalism, but Vanstrom was stunned at how considerably was intact.
