Tim Allen played the role of protagonist Tim Taylor, a conventional power tools-and-sports-loving American man. He has three children and works as a host of a home improvement show called, “Tool Time.”

For his work in “Home Improvement,” Allen won a Golden Globe in 1991 for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical. He also lent his voice for the character, Buzz Lightyear, in the animated-film series “Toy Story.” His other work includes “Galaxy Quest” (1999), “Joe Somebody” (2001), “The Santa Claus 2” (2002), “Christmas with the Kranks” (2004), “Zoom” (2006), “Wild Hogs” (2007), “Crazy on the Outside” (2010) and “3 Geezers!” (2013). Earl Hindman

Earl Hindman portrayed the role of Taylors’ next-door-neighbor, Wilson Wilson Jr., who acts as a confidante to Tim and Jill, and sometimes as an advisor to their kids. Interestingly, Wilson never showed his entire face during the series.

Later, Hindman made guest appearances on TV series such as “Law & Order” (2000), “Deadline” (2000), “Hopewell” (2000), “Final” (2001) and “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” (2002). He passed away on Dec. 29, 2003.
